The airplane.
N4770A is a 1956 Piper PA-22-150 Tri-Pacer. It received the Outstanding In Type award for the PA-22 class at EAA AirVenture Oshkosh 2015 and has been flown regularly ever since, kept in a dry climate.
Fully restored in 2014. No damage history. Full logbooks since new.
The airplane has flown from Chicago to Key West and from Montana to McCall, Idaho — full Yeti coolers, Pelican cases of camera gear, and cooking kit shuttled to Johnson Creek at gross weight, then emptied and run with two hours of fuel into Wilson Bar next to the Super Cubs. Everything modified about it serves that mission.
One of the fastest, smooth-flying, and best-restored PA-22s on the market. Acquired at 94 hours since major overhaul and entrusted for the last eight years. No deferred maintenance.
Cruises 125 mph on 9 gph. With rear seats removed, full-fuel payload reaches ~726 lb — more cargo at full tanks than a stock Cessna 170B, on a 36-gallon system. The only airworthy PA-22 on the public market with an EAA AirVenture Outstanding In Type award.
